Directions from Cape Town:

An easy 3.5 hour drive, approximately 325 kms from Cape Town. On commencement of the journey, travel on the N1 from Cape Town in the direction of Paarl; continuing on the N1 travel through the Huguenot Tunnel. A tollgate controls this tunnel. A tollgate fee is payable at the tunnel. The first town is Worcester set in the Breede River Valley. Taking the second turnoff to the right into Worcester, you leave the N1 and the Route 60 (R60) is taken. Follow the signs to the town of Robertson. Once through Robertson, the next town is Ashton. The R60 becomes the R62 in Ashton. Travel on through Krogmanskloof and Montagu. Pass straight through Barrydale. We are 87kms from Barrydale. When you have travelled about 70km look out for the sign to Riversdale. Do not turn there but continue for straight on past that for another 4kms and

Turn left for LAINGSBURG

(We are 19kms off R62 before Ladismith town – on the road to Laingsburg.)

Continue for approx 10km.

Turn left @ T-Junction for LAINGSBURG (R323).

(here you will loose cell phone reception)

Continue for approx 4km.

Turn Right into VOORBAAT (good gravel road).

Continue for 4kms. (Rock face on the right, up a hill & down, then around several bends)

Continue until you see large blue gum trees and a small bridge over river.

Take immediate next left (sign for The Country Garden / Beecatcher Guest Farm)

Continue along farm lane for about 1km (you will go past several buildings on the left and a small farm).

Keep straight at the fork in the road (sign for The Country Garden).

Keep along the farm road which passes through some other farms.

You will see a white walled entrance to our neighbour’s citrus farm.

Proceed through the citrus orchards until you get to a T-junction where you turn right and continue through the citrus until you to get to the Beecatcher / Country Garden Guest Farm gate.

Continue through the gate. We are situated up against the mountain. Look out for the yellow-coloured cottages and large Bluegum trees and proceed up to the reception at the foot of the mountain, where we will meet you.

Directions from Oudtshoorn to The Country Garden / Beecatcher Guest Farm:

Follow the Route 62 for about 100 km via Calitzdorp to Ladismith.

As you enter Ladismith, keep on straight. Proceed past the left turn to Route 62 Barrydale/Montagu.

The road then makes a sharp turn to the right which you follow until you get to a T-junction. You will notice a sign indicating a left turn to The Country Garden / Beecatcher Guest Farm.

Turn left onto the road to Laingsburg.

Continue for 18 kms along a beautiful scenic road. (You will pass two turn-offs to Dwarsrivier on your right and also a left turn to Barrydale. Here you will lose cellphone reception.

At the sign “VOORBAAT “ you turn right onto a good gravel road. See sign for The Country Garden / Beecatcher Guest Farm.

Continue for 4kms. (Rock face on the right, up a hill & down, then around several bends)

Continue until you see large blue gum trees and cross a bridge over the river.

Take next turn left at the sign for The Country Garden / Beecatcher.

Continue until you see large blue gum trees and a small bridge over river.

Coming from Laingsburg:

(approx. 80km to the farm)

Take the Ladismith / Seweweekspoort road out of Laingsburg. It is a tar road and you continue until you find a turnoff to the right to Ladismith. This will be a gravel road. It is a long lonely and beautiful drive.

When the road becomes tar again, carry on for a good while until you see a turnoff to the left for Vanzylsdamme. Do not turn in here but continue over the Groot rivier and the very next turn to the left will be “Voorbaat”.

Turn onto the Voorbaat gravel road.

Continue for 4kms. (Rock face on the right, up a hill & down, then around several bends)

Continue until you see large blue gum trees and cross a bridge over the river.

Take next turn left at the sign for The Country Garden / Beecatcher Guest Farm.
